The magazines in question do feature full page ads by Pentax.

I'm still not convinced they are a total con. I love Pentax too but lets face it they dumped its loyal fans for ages until it brought out the K series cameras.

As for customer service... the worst I have ever had from any company no lie!

It was only until I contacted another manager outside the photo department did I get some results.

The point I am trying to make is they still have a way to go to being a glorious camera manufacturer. Lets see what the new lenses hold for us.

Anybody who believes "tests" in camera magazines is living in cloud-cuckoo land. It is difficult to say whether the reviewers are more dishonest than incompetent, or vice versa.

To make a blanket statement that these tests are rigged to further one manufacturers reputation is just as cloud cuckoo. Because in truth we don't know.

I'm sure no-one complained when the K10 recieved 90% etc scores.

Why should I not believe the test in Digital Camera or Digital SLR photo??

yes I thought a criticism of Pentax current glass would stir a few of you.
The 12-24 f4 recieved a really luke warm response from this months digital camera mag. I've also seen one of the prime do surprisingly poorly on test.

These test are important to buyers as if they are indeed genuine they are are only way we can know if a lens is any good.

Hi Fellow Pentaxians,
I have £500.00 pound to spend (ooooh lucky me) or maybe a bit more due to an inheritence.

Do I wait for the over priced possibly below par 16-50mm lens
(sorry pentax lenses have been getting fairly weak reviews recently)

or

buy the award winning sigma 18-50 f2.8 and the 10-20mm.

or replace my awful jessops Portaflash lights with some gemini bowens lights.

I will contact stofen. I bought it from warehouse express and will return it soon.

One thing I won't be returning is the K10D... that isn't a camera its an artists dream.

I have used an umbrella and stand before now and the results are great for fill-in. But very unportable.

The stofen will be ideal.

I just need to know which one will fit. That teeny bit of softening that it will give, from the reults in mags I've seen looks worth it

Photography... such an expensive hobby.
