I have finally come around to acquiring some B&W filters for my Pentax 67ii, and I have started to investigate how to best use them. Currently I have a No 8 yellow and No 21 orange filter. No 8 yellow has filter factor 2 (+1 stop), No 21 orange has filter factor 4 (+2 stops). So far so good - but how do I set up my camera? Does the 67ii AE prism (which BTW is quite superb) in AV mode make the necessary adjustments, or do I have to dial in the compensation on the Exposure Compensation dial?

Since I am asking about exposure, what about the 67ii + polarizer and colour film ? So far I have let the AE prism work out the correct exposure. Is this the common practice? I use primarily center-weighted metering.

I am grateful for any advice on this matter!

Best regards

I am glad the lens arrived safely in London! Thank you for the transaction.

The 1.7 AF adapter was an hybrid, in that it was designed to provide AF functionality to non AF lenses as well as being a teleconverter. There may have been compromises made in the design because of that. So together with general advances in design the 1.4 may be better optically.
I sometimes use the AF 1.7x adapter together with my FA*300 f4.5, I find the optical quality of the 1.7x adapter to be of very high standards. I have yet to see any noticable image degradation due to the use of the 1.7x adapter. But, as many of you say, it is a product which has gone out of production. Pentax would benefit from having a decent teleconverter in their current product range. I would imagine that most (if not all) other major camera brands have a teleconconverter in their line-up

I have been searching for these types of settings on Flickr, without any luck. Where do you find these settings?

Thanks for commenting Will! I understand the things you say, and that there are differences in practice between a pure landscape photographer and a photographer working with more content oriented material, which makes sense.

I have studied other photographers´websites and web galleries, and seen quite a few without any watermarks. For instance in Ian Cameron´s "Transcient Light" website, the images are without a watermark (at least visible ones). The well known Portugese photographer Nanã Sousa Dias, does not have watermarks on his images on Flickr. So I have until now reasoned that "why should I bother with watermarks if internationally well known photographers have no watermarks on their work".

Now I would like to learn more about this, and am interested in your experience and practice.

Recently I have been busy scanning medium format film taken during the last two years. Scanning is fun, but very time consuming. I have now started to think about all the money and work I have put into my photo hobby, and also about how best to share photos on the Internet.

I upload images to Flickr without a watermark and with these specs:

File type: jpeg
Dimension: 1024x1024
Resolution: 72ppt
Bitdepth: 24
Colour profile: sRGB
File size: Between 250kb-1mb

Does this seem like okay settings, or should I possibly reduce the file size/quality? If I ever should become victim of image theft, would my files have any use for anyone, being of such low file quality?

I do not know much about these things, it would be very useful to learn more about how other people here share on the Internet (in a safe way).
