Thanks for that, I had a good fiddle and while I was pressing buttons, moving thumbwheels, it came on...then went off again...

Turns out that it's the angle I hold it at that's causing the problem?! There must be something loose inside causing a dodgy connection... I'll have to give Pentax a ring, see if they can repair it under warranty.

I've got a Kx, had it for maybe 5 months with no problems, however it's been off for a week or so and now I'm having some trouble with it...

It turns on, goes through it's usual boot procedures (shakes sensor and checks focus) then, nothing. It doesn't matter which buttons I press, I get no response from the LCD, it's just blank. It won't adjust focus, but it WILL take photos, for which the quick review image shows for a second on the LCD, then again, nothing!

Is there a combination of buttons to press to hard reset the camera on boot?

I've had my K-x for a few months now, starting to get the hang of it and taking some nice shots with the kit lens, however I'm starting to find its limitations.

With that in mind, I'm after a couple of lenses, but I'll need help choosing as I've got literally no idea what to look for! I want...

A multi purpose zoom lens
A macro lens
A quick low light lens for taking gig photos

The cheaper the better! If you have a lens to offer or just some advice, I'd be really grateful!

Just last week recieved my K-x and I've been having a fiddle...some interesting results so far! Here are a couple that I'm willing to submit:













Let me know what you think as I could do with all the guidance I can get! I quite liked taking the gig photos (fiends band) so I'd like to do a bit more of that, but I struggled with quite dark images which I've had to over compensate on the ISO settings (up around 1600) which has made them a little noisey? If anyone could suggest some cheap, fast (?!) lenses for this type of photography, I'd really appreciate it!

I thought I'd wait till I actually owned a Pentax before introducing myself as there were a couple of other DSLRs in the running! However, I've just bought a K-x from one of your own, Robin (rparmar) so here I am!

This is my first SLR which I want to use mainly for leisure, I don't plan to make a career out of it! I'll try and contribute to the forum as much as possible and I hope to enter some of the weekly competitions for fun too.
