The specks through the viewfinder are probably due to your friend trying to "blow" the sensor clean!.....dust has been blown up inside the viewfinder, I gave up with blowers along time ago for this very reason, invest in an Arctic butterfly brush!. You can clean your focussing screen very easily,but great care must be taken not to touch it,I believe special tweezers can be bought for the job.......good luck!

Sorry for being a little short in my answer John, but I was rushing out!.....I find my Tamron gives a much crisper image than the Pentax and I find manual focussing much more precise with the Tamron than the Pentax. The Tamron is heavier ,but better balanced than the Pentax, alot more comfortable in the hand,if you get what I mean!......

If you are having to make such "large" alterations in settings for "all" your lenses, I would say it's a camera fault!.....I would take it back, fullstop!...........Ken

Money wise I suppose it will be!.......but it's still the remarkable camera that many of us love!...a brilliant performer that was underpriced from the start,I have no intention of going down the video/Dslr road..........................Ken
