I'm sorry but I take exeption to your remark about beginners not bothering to read the manual!...I have only been using a dslr for a short time but I have used Pentax slr's for alot of years!...My point was that my camera on default settings was producing shots of very poor quality with all my lenses, both Pentax and third party. I managed to get mine rectified by a qualified camera operative.....I still believe that when you pay £728 for a camera you shouldn't have to sit down and "tune" your lenses I would think the majority of users weather pro's or amatures would be able to correct back focussing, which was my problem, to a satisfactory degree...............Kenp

Good news!........I think!...before I sent my K20 back I took it in to my mate in the local camera shop!............He vanished for 20 mins and came back with a smile on his face, your focus was out he said!......by much ?,I asked!..............F-----g miles he said!.....not a man to mince words my friend. So with a bit of luck and good managment I should be able to take some reasonable shots!............Thanks Dan for all your effort,it is much appreciated!.................Ken

Thank you George!.....I know it is a sophisticated bit of kit,I have it set up the same as my Previous camera but it is still short of the mark.Nothing the matter with the Tamron ,it is a superb lens and still produces the goods on the ds!....I still believe that the K20 on bog standard settings should produce shots of "Decent!" quality!.........but it doesn't!..................I may have to send it back down the country!...........

I'm jumping on the band wagon!....I have just bought a K20 and find the images very soft!....I do alot of macro work and it just doesn't seem up to the job!...I upgraded from a ist ds,which was a superb tool for macro shots coupled with a Tamron 90mm!..........I may have to start fiddling with settings to sharpen things up a bit ,but I'm not a happy ,as I feel I shouldn't have too!...........Ken
