My 200mm F3.5 is the Vivitar (Tokina) version. Works best wide open at F3.5.

I have no regrets getting a K5. Upgrade from K20D great, but use my K20D as a back up or with a different lens. Wouldn't dream of selling the K20D though. Actually I wouldn't consider getting rid of my istDS either. It's smaller and lighter-good for travelling. If cash was a real problem I'd just be happy with the K20D, and wait for a K6 or K7 or....

Until recently you could purchase these (Pentax 1.7x AF Adapter) new from Amazon Japan. No sign of them now?

Can't find the reference here. Perhaps it was at another forum but using bounce flash appears to correctly expose now that I have upgraded to latest firmware. (K5 and Sigma EF 530DG super).

An update on the Pentax GPS. After seeing it on special at B&H bought it thinking the astro tracking feature was cool. Some people said that you need to locate the device each time its turned on by rotating through 3 axiis to enable device. Did this once. Just changed the battery and found orientation excercise not needed. It picked up location in a few seconds. Accurracy today better than 10 metres? Loaded photos from a birding trip into lightroom. One click and up pops Google Maps location. Can see this will be a big advantage on an extended trip to a remote part of the world (Africa, Antarctica etc).
So I'm impressed by it. Now have to try the astro function.
