Best Bet to try is to go to the Pentax website and go to Downloads...this is where you can find the appropriate driver for your Operating System.

Trust Me...
Owning my 1st Digital SLR Camera is still Really NEW to me.

The Lense that came with the camera is the SMC Pentax DA 18-55 Lense

as for the RAW format...I saw the setting but I yet to play around with it...

Just wanted to share with everyone the GOOD NEWS.

As of Friday Nov 26th, I purchased my very 1st Digital SLR Camera.

Model: *ist DS

So far so Good...
All I can say is ....ALOT TO LEARN

This is what I can share right now...

Controls are easy to use
Body is comfy to hold
Easy to learn the controls
LCD Screen is big and good picture quality
* Suggest a External Flash *

Once I figure out how to use this camera more effectively, I will post up.

Here are a couple pics I took so far.
Nothing compared to the Awesome Pics that some of you people have taken.
One day I will get as good as most of you [I hope ]

does the Optio S30 have minimum requirements for Operating Systems?
I would double check...

go to the Pentax website..
they have a Download Section

All I did was installed from the Pentax CD was the USB drivers for the camera...

Be Sure to Install the drivers FIRST...
Then Plug your camera in...XP will then reconize New Hardware attached and will complete the install using those drivers you installed earlier.

I would also test other software just to see if they can install properly...

If you have to...go to the Pentax site and download the drivers directly from the site...this way you know it is up to date and it would eliminate being a faulty CD issue...

I use to own the following Pentax cameras...

Optio 33LF [gave to sister]
Optio 30 [gave to Pops]
Optio S [Gave to Mom]
Optio S4 [had for a few weeks than sold it to friend]
Optio S4i [had for a few weeks than sold to another friend]

Now I am the owner of the Optio MX
I am now thinking of upgrading to the istD SLR
