My 1st Digital SLR

Hey Folks
Just wanted to share with everyone the GOOD NEWS.

As of Friday Nov 26th, I purchased my very 1st Digital SLR Camera.

Model: *ist DS

So far so Good...
All I can say is ....ALOT TO LEARN

This is what I can share right now...

Controls are easy to use
Body is comfy to hold
Easy to learn the controls
LCD Screen is big and good picture quality
* Suggest a External Flash *

Once I figure out how to use this camera more effectively, I will post up.

Here are a couple pics I took so far.
Nothing compared to the Awesome Pics that some of you people have taken.
One day I will get as good as most of you [I hope ]

Do you have any M or K lenses, and if so, how does it handle them?

Also, have you tried the RAW software yet?

Trust Me...
Owning my 1st Digital SLR Camera is still Really NEW to me.

The Lense that came with the camera is the SMC Pentax DA 18-55 Lense

as for the RAW format...I saw the setting but I yet to play around with it...

I'm not very good, but learning every day... including tips from a Canon 10D user. I think what has struck me is...

a) I'm not wasting money developing shots... I just get the ones I really like printed, save the ones which I still like on to CD and dump the rest. I have saved hundreds on printing since I got the camera last Feb. OK not revolotionary, but significant to me.

b) I take much more shots so my "craft" is coming on. There're a lot less shots I chuck away.

c) I'm just enjoyin taking photos more! I'm looking in more places... I'm just having fun. and here's a shot I took the other day. There's lots wrong with it, but for me it's a shot I love

I have been playing around with RAW images on my *ist DS and it turns out that they are a different from the image files from an *ist D. Does anyone know why this is? Unfortunately the DS files are not supported by PSP 9.
