test out the equipment for exposure as studio flash guns can over expose with digital cameras and flash meters arnt always acurate the the cameras metering system

i have photax guns in my studio and the *ist d/ds/dl sometimes over expose i do use my vivitar flash meter and with practice i now get perfect results every time

so please test out your kit before doing serious shooting remember a digital camera cen take test shots

all my lenses are SMC apart from the 18~55 which came with the *istdl and you can switch the digital camera to use an aprature ring on m series lenses

you get more control with A series lenses as i have me supers and super As as well as *ist digital models

the VW sharan holds its value and go for about £1000~£1500 more than the Ford Galaxy but then the Seat alhamba sells for about £1000 dearer than the Ford and £500 less the the VW

all three are the same vehicals with diffent badges but under the skin all the same

however knowing camera manufactures the to will have different pin locations on the flash and the lenses wont work the pins will be different

i reply i must admit that i do know the manager at jessops as i have been a customer for a number of years and thay did know that i had a weddingh coming up and so thay did bend over backwards to help me


i do sometimes find that you are better off with a face to face discussion at the shop if you have a problem and yes you do have rights under the consumer protections but it has to be said that some times the personal discussion is best and not to go in all guns a blazing which frankly just gets peoples backs up

i had a simular experience earlier this year having purchased an *istds from my local jessops (only people who had one) and after a few weeks the camera went faulty But i have to say that it was actually the fact that i had been given the wrong batteries which were the wrong polarity

i contacted my local jessops and thay told me thay would get me a replacment *istds but after 3 weeks of being told thay were having transferred from another centre and not getting any where i returned the camera to the shop they swopped it for an *istdl2 with no problem and appologised for the problems that i had encountered

i have use jessops on a number of occasions as five of the camera shops in my area have closed since jessops opened and they are usually quite helpful which is more than i can say about the autherised pentax dealer who refuse to order any thing from pentax or to stock the cameras

i got an *istds off jassops about four weeks ago


mind you its going back as its developed a fault caused by them putting the wrong batteries in and the polarity was reversed but thay are getting me a replacment

i think my one lens would be an 85mm f1.2 portrait lens it gives crisp clear images with excellent backgound distorsion

the depth of field control on this is stunning and would be my one lens if one was the option

well that is the one thing that use of a teleconverters you can use them thay are relitivley inexpensive and when you are happy that you use a focal length a lot then you can buy a lens of that length

to be hounest i have a 300-400-500mm telephoto lenses thay are old makes elsionor etc but i dont use them that often i had a 135-600mm f6.7 SMC pentax lens which was as clear as cyristal and a stuning lens to use

BUT that was just it i didnt use it a had the lens four to five years and sold it on ebay this year as i just didnt use it

my advice to you would be to buy an inexpensive teleconverter and experiment with it
