You probably haven't pushed the release button on the tube in enough. Some of them are awkward. It might help if we knew the make?

Hi Jon

It might be my monitor, but there doesn't appear to be any colour in the sky. I think night shots are better before the sky is completely black. It would help in seeing where the roof ends and the sky starts. Other than that, I think it could hang on the wall in the pub
there is that magic moment you only get a short window to shoot when the light levels from setting or rising sun will balance perfectly with the artificial lights in/on the house and you'll have blues in the sky and on the snow, plus lots of shadow details and warm glowing colors from inside the house....
Nice shot the WB seems to be just about right.

It is a night shot and it's a bit picky asking to see the roof in the dark etc. I think what Don's on about is the BlueHour which doesn't last very long link

It's possible that there were several versions. If the contrast is OK wide open, it will be OK stopped down.

Be careful buying Samsung There are still GX10's and 20's
about under 2 years Warranty which they can't repair due to not
having parts or replacement stock.

They made a big thing about the 2 Year Warranty in their advertising.
The ASA and TS should be investigating.

I used to have that lens in the 70's. Sharp but very poor contrast.

Your lens 250-600mm looks positively pristine compared to this
Pentax F*300mm f/4.5 which the seller claims correctly:

"The unit has some plastic damages which you can see in the pictures."

Looks to me like what always happens when you put a non-Pentax
mount on...

Aren't some of the Nikon long lenses very old designs.

Mifsuds have had a NEW Pentax DA*300mm f4 on a ebay for a few
weeks now for only £750..... with that sort of interest Pentax may
as well discontinue that as well
