If it landed on grass it should be OK. If it landed on
flags and the box isn't badly damaged it would probably
be OK. It shouldn't matter too much if it was loose inside
as long as there's nothing solid for it to impact against.

I'd do a shot of say a brick wall to make sure that all
the corners are equally sharp..... No It shouldn't Rattle

"Asahi Pentax mount adapter K Official Pentax
branded adapter. Comes in original box and a
key to assist attaching and removing."

I've never seen a KEY with the official adapter before?

A photo would help confirm that it is the official one?

This was a previous thread about card reliability.

I think that's about Four people in just two threads who have had problems with Transcend

Ah! I've been in the Jessops in Crewe, bought a few SH items, can't remember why I was that far down the country There was also a Chemists in Nantwich that sold some Pentax gear. When I wanted a 50mm FA f/1.4 in a hurry it was the only place locally that had a new one in stock so I drove down for it. Had a look around the small museum whilst I was there.

Sorry to hear that, but you can't say that you weren't warned about them.

The latest tests are at DxOMark

Some sensors can have a loss of more than 1 Ev at f/1.2

i.e. Canon EOS 7D or EOS 450D
No Pentax cameras tested so far. The K20D does have a loss approaching
0.5 stops with f/1.4 lenses.

It's been documented on this board previously that digital sensors can't see f/1.4 they can only see it as f/1.7 anyway and the focusing screens see both as about f/2.5. The only slight advantage with an f/1.4 and it may not apply across the board is that a 50mm A f/1.4 lets through slightly more light at every stop than the 50mm A f/1.7...... it's a maximum of about 0.3 stops, well inside the tolerance of the metering system.
