300mm is far too short There's loads of stuff around that length. We need a 120-400mm f/5.6 zoom.

It only seems to like the "Top Lenses" My DA*300mm seems OK straight from the camera, but lesser lenses don't look too good and I'm not that sure that sharpening will improve matters.

It is good for shots in poor light etc. where the K20D could only manage very noisy shots. The K-5 with something like the DA*300mm f/4 produces good results.

Interesting stuff.... I wonder if that look came by
accident from someone who couldn't use a meter properly.

I've deleted load of Swan photos with that look!!

Does it matter? We use all kinds of things in everyday life that weren't designed for their current use... It's a sort of creative improvisation

MP3's were designed as a way of compressing the audio track on a movie.... so does that mean they shouldn't be used for music?

Lots of lenses and film were used for things that they were never intended

Editors could be designed just to change the part of a Jpeg that gets modified. Better JPEG goes partway towards that.

If you accept that Jpegs aren't editable, non of the movie formats are editable either except maybe DV or similar

Seems as though it's been brought out for the Pentax telescopes.

I've a couple of Pocket PC's that record where you've been, what
speed etc and you can save the GPS co-ordinates.... make your own
maps etc. Used them about 5 times

I always intended to buy this link but never quite got round to it

I've already got a decent charger, but I've ordered one of the Technoline BL-700 battery chargers mentioned above by AdrianP from the same people but through Amazon £29.99 + free delivery. I like some of the tricks it does and having a separate LCD display for each of the 4 batteries

This is a good battery test/review even though it's a few years old link

There's now an Eneloop 2500mah battery out

Edit: Looks like Sanyo NiMH and Lithiums are now FDK and only Eneloops Sanyo link
