The best of these recovery programs used to be GetDataBack. I've used it to restore whole hard drives with no losses. Not free but the demo should show what's available.

My favourite tripods for many years have been made by the Susis German Company. Sadly long since gone. Their only weak point was that the heads weren't changeable, but the supplied one's still made the tripod faster to use than anything else. The legs were stronger than they looked, Susis had used a special 4 sided tubing.

The top end tripods came with fast fold back and forth spike or rubber. Even the rubber was well thought out because it adjusted the angle automatically to that of the ground. The bracing was so strong it locked the tripod up and for weddings etc you could really move your kit around quickly.

Interestingly CCD - which is old tec, noisy, and limited in functionality - is yet frequently cited as superior in image quality for colour rendition. Personally I have very limited understanding of these things, but there are so many other issues at stake which are relevant to picture quality.

.
It appears purely because they can fit it easily on a tick list. If Pentax still used CCD it would be listed as a Negative.

No one's ever posted any proof or a macro that converts one to the other

Very well put Ronnie..... It's amazing what Pentax systems still exist and they still can't be beat for doing the jobs that they do well.

I hate the current trend towards Ticklist Spotting

Reserve prices and starting prices don't really have much bearing on what the final price will be (unless they're too high in which case nobody is interested).
Reserve prices especially do control the price paid especially when at least two buyers start coming back and forth piggybacking each other OR a stealth bidder gets a big shock at the end of an auction when the reserve triggers a big hike in price. A lot of bidders put big bids on but always hope that they will get if for a lot cheaper than their max. They also allow the seller to come back later with a second chance offer if the reserve isn't met.

I've seen many auctions where someone has been stung for more than double the 2nd highest bid due to a high Reserve price.

It also happens that when a bidder puts on a FIRST bid that is quite high... knowing that automatic top-ups will keep the price... just high enough to win. With a Reserve the price will shoot straight up to the reserve... if the FIRST bid is high enough.

That's why the general rule is ... Only put in one bid and make it equal to the maximum you will be happy paying.

Now £550 with 3 bids. Looks like the reserve was £399 ..... far too low He could have got £700.

Is the £399 bidder about to have his hands chopped off

Why don't sellers simply start listings at the minimum price they'd accept? I avoid listings with a reserve price.
Obviously because someone will try to snap up an item at that price - whereas, with a hidden reserve price, the seller has a decent chance of getting more than that!
Very Clever Seller!! Obviously already fooled all the buyers on here

How come it's ROCKETED to £399.00 with just one BID Surely Ebay aren't beginning to feel sorry for all the Pentax bidders getting fleeced
