That's the older non OS version, not as good optically but not a bad price for 500mm.

Thanks for pointing that out which I had not noticed. However, as you rightly also pointed out, it's not a bad price for someone in the market for such as this and with Pentax's built in OS, they wouldn't miss out either. As for the former having better optical quality, that may be the case but for most users in a real life scenario, I think they would be hard pressed to detect any discernable difference.
Have a good weekend....

Why don't sellers simply start listings at the minimum price they'd accept? I avoid listings with a reserve price.
Obviously because someone will try to snap up an item at that price - whereas, with a hidden reserve price, the seller has a decent chance of getting more than that!

... Or more than likely not sell it at all.
In some cases, I would rather not sell something if the only alternative was to sell it at a ridiculously low price -> wait a bit and try again!

I also don't bid on items with a reserve price.
Edit: Notice there is a bid on it now, having had 3 of these in the past first thing I would do is ditch the UV filter. Wonder if the mount conversion has been done for the K-1/KP.

What's your thought (as one who has had several of these lenses) as to a "reasonable" final sale price for it?
PS: Really wish I could be "interested" in buying it, but a combo of circumstances (bad back, dodgy knee, expensive holiday(s?) coming very soon, probably not really able to use it enough to "do it justice", + other things I "need"!) means I am trying to avoid being "tempted"

Anything under £500 is a good price, it's really worth around £600 I would say. As far as I am concerned if you can't run to a 150-450mm then this is a very good second best. The wider capability is handy at times and It also has very good close focus ability, not quite macro but not far off.
Must admit I had seen it before this thread was posted, was toying with making a cheeky bid once the reserve price became known but my cash is needed elsewhere now.
