Hard to say Chris. I just took alook at some photos I took a few weeks ago. On a walk in Richmond Park, most of my tree/ people ones were fine with 0EV compensation, whereas most of the ones of deer required +0.7EV. Poss some more research on that, as it could also be a focal length related thing (ie all the deer shot at 300mm end, whereas others were probably more of a mixture!)

I got my Tamron for under £60 just before Christmas. I haven't seen too much PF, except one shot I took simply because I thought it would show it up a treat - and it did!

However I use Picture Window Pro to do some of my editing and it has a colour correction tool (also avail as plug-in IIRC for Photoshop). Just a quick sample of the purple puts a merker on a colour frame, drag that toward white (or any other colour), and most of the PF went away!

I just felt that in the absence of any other telephoto length lens, at £60 I couldn't go far wrong!
