There are very good tutorial DVDs free with Digital Photo every month and I think they sell a complete set.
Thanks Ken et al

Whilst I have cucusoft to "grab" Youtube stuff,I`m of the view that a "bought" DVD may be more "professional" in both presentation & content.

I appreciate that there are a number of clubs around the country and there are so many people to offer help and advice when it comes to getting the most out of your camera and equipment but does anyone know of a DVD available that takes you through things on a step by step basis?.

I appreciate that my local Waterstones may be stocked full to the ceiling with books on the subject but I`m sure I`m not the only one who would find following a non patronising DVD so much easier to follow with my K10/K20 in hand.

Even if it goes from "Digital Photography For Dummies" through to "Advanced",it would be would a look.

I don`t know if anyone has mentioned this date...and I`ve had a quick check but can`t find anything...so here`s a Heads up for all you Astronominals...Astrologicists...all you folks are into the moon and stars....including Father Ted

If what I`ve seen posted about on the interweb is anything to go by,28th August is when Mars and the Moon will almost be in alignment and might be,if cloud cover permits,a chance to get some great images.

Think you`re right mayday,if Jensen Button was Jonathan Ross,he wouldn`t have a drive this year. But don`t forget,ITV want some of the revenue from the Tv licence.

Just need to extract the telescope from the loft to get the eyepiece dimensions and then find out what I need.

Eyepieces tend to come in two sizes ( as far as I'm aware ), 1 1/4 inch and erm...another (Mine are all 1 1/4 ).

You'll need as a minimum, one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pentax-camera-T-ring-T-ring-for-telescope-adapters_W0QQite...
That will allow you to use the telescope as a massive lens, straight on the front of the camera. That works well for the moon.

You could also add one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-25-T-Mount-M42-mount-Combination-Adaptor_W0QQitemZ220534...
This will allow you to fit eyepieces before the camera for extra magnification, but focusing becomes much harder. Hence the second image above

HTH
Who`s a silly billy then?.....I AM!!!!!...it ain`t a T ring I need,it`s a K ring.In communications with the vender for an exchange...fingers crossed.

No. the licence is for TV receiver equipment. This argument came up when VCRs appeared. People tried to get away with a VCR and a monitor.
The Tv Licence is required because a Tv (CRT) is a transmitter and it`s the IF (the signal to the tube)that the detector vans/hand held devices pick up...actually,it`s a field strength meter, much the same as the Super Snooper that detects radar speed traps..and that is how they know which channel you are watching. So,is there an IF transmitted from a flat screen?.
