hmm
there is sth that is not so perfect as on most of your photos.
Light, ok ...texture ok...
I do not know!
Sth about the sky and the proportions it takes.
Too much of the sky ? I guess you wanted to give some space upwards. sensible. Its just a bit too much ?

Thanks Aiki.

Here is a colour version.

I understand you, but I really like the intended space, it suits my low angle to the subject, I feel. Plus, I wanted to do somethin' different other than a straight shot of the sculpture.

I cannot argue with your version at all, be it a few millimetres. I like it jus' as much, nice one, Aiki.

It is certainly dramatic. I cannot decide if I like the b+w or the colour one better. Decisions, decisions !

Unusually, I prefer the colour one and with a slight crop to the top but the BW is stunning and all in all it is a great shot.

Do you ever take a bad shot?
I like them both. I think I prefer the b&w, just, but agree with the others that a bit less sky works for me too.

Thanks a lot guys.

I'm stumped by what image to use also, but i'll err on the toned B&W of course.

After seeing the colour, which is more of a duo tone, I can't see any point in the B&W version, nor can I see any point in cropping it.

Shim, the B&W for me is much more moodier.

I've done some research on this, and its not a spartan soldier.

Its a sculpture by Alan Collins entitled 'Minerva'.

Minerva was the virgin goddess of warriors and a lot of other things besides. Her symbol was the owl, and she carried it on her shoulder.
I guess that is loosely represented by the shape on top of her left shield arm.
You gotta' love abstract, eh? I do.
