Lovely lighting, how did you balance the brightness of the sky against the darker shadow side of the birds? I'm well impressed.

Thank You all for your wonderful complements.
You might note David, that the shadow of the birds on the ground show that the sun was somewhat behind me, so the birds were already well lite.....The birds were in a frenzy because the fishermen had just arrived, and they knew that feeding time was upon them....so any human being approaching them, was worth a fly-by with the hope of food. Of course all I had was a pentax!!!
Post processing was done with Light-Room.

Even so the lighting in this picture is very impressive, the light from the sky must have been quite intense.Thank You all for your wonderful complements.

Thank you all again....I entered this photo in a competition that had....no kidding....over 245,000 entries.
It was in the top 20!
No, I did not win, but I was proud that it climbed up that high.
Oh...I did not know we had a photo of the week comp!
Thanks again.

Super shot... Almost like a still from a movie (moment of frenzied action, frozen)... Great separation between all the moving parts... I really like the three stood birds, watching, which (for me) anchors the movement of the rest... The pelican (?) in particular... Like he/she is above it all/seen it all before/wondering what all the fuss is about... Congrats...

Thank you Bill....I love how beautiful you adjudicate .....it was those kind of directive, open and detailed comments during the competitions that made me become the photographer I am now. Learning from someone with such an acute eye for detail, such as yourself.
