St Mathurin

This is typical of the villages you see along the western Loire : soft white sandstone houses and a dominating church!

Thank you, senn .
I've stopped here before and been struck by the extraordinary light on these buildings, which may look more striking in the colour version. But I wanted to try it in monochrome.

You've captured the reflections perfectly, the church and buildings are beautiful, what a place to live !

Very nicely done. I like the tone applied to the monochrome. Especially love the blank water in the foreground apart from the reflection of the top of the tower.

I like the composition, the strong contrast and the use of sepia effect.

Many thanks for the comments. Before joining this forum, I had not thought of doing a photo in monochrome. It is interesting to see the different effects and also how differently the photos have to be treated in terms of contrast.
