Wow - Thanks All. You're all very kind. Let me say a wee bit more about this shot in a self-critique of sorts.
To take this image, my camera (K-5 and 18-135 WR) were actually placed on the ground and hand-held at the required angle. I couldn't use the viewfinder so I framed the image using live-view. A couple of students passing by had a chuckle at this old geezer on his knees, and crouched right over with his head on the ground peering into the back of a camera - oh how we all laughed. (Really - we had a laugh )
I relied on the auto-focus to "do the necessary" and I think it picked up the tower as it's point of focus. In hindsight, perhaps I should have pre-focussed at a point just beyond the bench in order to keep the front parts of the bench and the tower in focus. (I believe this is what is called the hyper-focal distance to obtain the correct depth of field.)
The second issue I have is composition. I should have dragged the bench slightly to the right and re-framed so as not to obscure the base of the lamp post.
I could also have reflected some light onto the left end of the bench to pick out more of the detail. (Axel Luther - this isn't an HDR shot) I dont have the equipment for off-camera flash - any suggestions?
Finally, I'm not sure if the image would be enhanced by a figure sitting on the bench, perhaps reading a book.
Next time I'm in the area, I might try heeding my own advice and try another shot.

Excellent shot. Wonderful lights, colours and composition. At first sight I too thought that it is an HDR shot. I like it a lot.

Good.Don't want to get American, With AWESOME,and SPECTACULAR. IT'S GOOD. Reserve hyperboliae (?)for really Fantastic Pics. If you start at 10 where have you got to go.I put a pic up and WOMBLE said it's not straight. Correct. But every picture tells a story.I was still drunk from the night before and I took a pic. I took many pics. All turned out OK after Lightroom. WHAT IS A PICTURE.Does it tell a story? My lack of horizontal tells a story as I was still drunk, probably, no driving required,.Sorry Rab it is a GOOD PIC
