Fire Over Ullswater

by davidstorm

You may have seen from one of Shaun Wilson's uploads that on Saturday Morning we got up early (4.30am) to catch the mist on Ullswater as the sun rose. This is what we saw - the last of the mist disappearing as the sun starts to peep over the hills on the left and turns it burning orange.

The colours, mist and reflections make it most eye-catching.

You've caught a great moment there, David, and I like the composition very much.

Beautiful, love that floating mist.

And you've answered the question I asked on Shaun's post about what time you got up.
I think I will retract my request to take up landscape photography

Beautiful light, a fleeting moment well caught. Have you tried a square crop on the central portion?

I'll have a look at a crop Dr. O. I did consider removing some of the left side, but I liked the buoy line leading in.

I'm not sure what is more impressive the shot or the voluntary 4.30am rise
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

It's the 4:30am rise Stuey, take my word for it. The body is very disorientated at that ungodly hour, I'm surprised I could hold the camera straight!
