3000mm must be the size of a cannon

Beautiful portrait and the light and tones are spot on

Nice well lit composition.
I have same lens, but mine gives softer image than yours. Did you use any sharpening effect? I ask it because I see strange contour around his ear in enlarged view. And maybe you overdid the blur effect at the top of his cap.

I have sharpened it and added some highlights, the marks you see are actually fibres that i tried to clone out, they were on his ear and the top of his hat, so when i sharpened it they showed up even more, maybe i should have left the soft effect which i like on the photo's of you litle girl, i'll do this next time, thanks for your feedback Gabor.

I hope that I didn't offend you with my previous comment.
The soft effect of my shot was given by the backlight. I used relatively long exposure without flash.
I believe that your shot will be a perfect portrait if you fix the problems that I mentioned previously.

On the contrary, no offence taken at all, i am only too glad of any advise given, it's very kind of you.

I must say, WOW!!!...with or with out the strange contour, this is a fantastic photo. I too see the flaws, but the greatness here, is that ones eyes are drawn into the face of this beautiful child and the first thing that strikes you are his eyes because they are tact sharp.
It takes a trained eye to see little details of flaws....the average person simply would not see it. If I were his parent, I would be so thunderstruck with what you captured...I would not care.
I especially love that he is not smiling nor looking into the camera... A mark of a great child photographer. Of course, there is a time for big smiles, but to capture character and personality...this is the kind of shot worth its weight in gold!
Oh ya. I LOVE this photo!
