Agree, like the low angle, looks a bit imposing & sinister like a scene from 'Day Of The Triffids.

It had all the makings of a good shot. The flower to the left is the sharper of the two which does not look right. Great angle for the shot. If the exif is correct, you used "action" program and it used a high shutter and wider aperture. This has caused the DOF issue, the focus is a seperate issue. You could have used aperture priority and selected f/8 for a better DOF.

Overall, the framing is good and balanced.
