Nice shot, it looks like a male Dark-eyed Junco, hope this helps.

John, thanks for the ID on this bird. I researched dark-eyed Juncos and I believe you nailed it. Looks like they are a Canadian bird that migrates South to the US for winter. This would explain why I don't see this bird except in the winter!

Hi Donna, glad to have helped. I took some photos of these in Jasper, Alberta outside the log cabin we were staying in.
