I like the portrait/landscape mix. Good choice of low viewpoint.

I like this shot as it displays the inquisitiveness of the young that too many of us lose in later life. Somehow it feels wider than the 18mm you used.
Have you tried cloning out the person on the beach on the right? Perhaps they're a distraction, or perhaps not?
I also wonder whether it would look better with a straightend sea - you seem to have space to do it. Perhaps that would make it look too clinical and your boy (apologies if wrong assumption) lean too much.
