Sorry, I'm quite excited by this as I don't want the weight bulk and price of the 18-35, in a non weather sealed lens, this suits my purposes much much better....

If I'm going to drop over £600 on a really short zoom ratio lens I want at least to be able to run it under the tap...
Cheers Jules...

SRP: of the other versions is £499 but you can get it for £379 if you look, I expect the Pentax fitting to do the same...

Jules, I have the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art and its superb, in fact i would say its the best lens i own followed by the Pentax DA*55mm.

Sigma are producing some excellent glass these days and pairing such glass with the K3 creates some stunning images.

My wish list for Pentax mount, Sigma Art lens would be an 85mm f/1.4 and the 50mm f/1.4.

I have read rumours about a 16mm to 20mm f/2 but not really interested in it, as
I have been waiting for ages for the 18mm to 35 f/1.8 which is due in Pentax mount at the end of this month which I have pre ordered and by all accounts is brilliant. wish they were weather sealed but I can live without it.

Have to be the next but one for me, as I've promised myself the 1.4 convertor, that does not leave me enough lee-way for an extra body this year unless things pick up... a lot...

Hey Ho, glass is better anyway...

OK! I will offer to permanently borrow your 60-250mm to ease your burden

It's what comes of having too much time on my hands due to all my damn ailments!
I end up surfing and I just keep on finding this stuff, drives me nut too as I've got bugger all money, and with said ailments very little prospect of earning any either unless I can fool some folks into buying a few of my pictures, which I need to get much better at!
Cheers Jules...

Jules I've had a look at your web-site and am sure you could sell some on stock libraries.
I sell a few, I don't make a fortune but the money does go towards some equipment. The best place to start is probably Alamy you can have a look at my Alamy portfolio and see they don't need to be competition winners.

The sigma 30/1.4 looks like a very useful lens. I'd be interested to see how it stacks up against an FA31. I'm also wondering if the extra speed of the sigma makes any real world difference?

You will see slightly shallower DOF with the sigma, but if it's like it's predecessor, the bokeh will be a bit funny (I found OOF highlights ended up sort of triangular or tick shaped). Hopefully it's a new optical design.

Retail price here is AU$429 or GBP232. Less 10% (GST) if you take it out of Australia. Sigma must sell them to distributors for around $250.

Best regards
