Given that Aussie prices for everything else are eye watering (e.g., £10 for a pint!), the cheap price of photo gear is very puzzling.jules wrote:

Retail price here is AU$429 or GBP232. Less 10% (GST) if you take it out of Australia. Sigma must sell them to distributors for around $250.SRP: of the other versions is £499 but you can get it for £379 if you look, I expect the Pentax fitting to do the same...

25p! Yes, you guessed it, it's a typo.
Just as a heads up. Cheapest pint around here can be had for $7 during happy hours in TAB bars (betting section). Pints in Perth are $10 to $19. Exchange rate is around .543 at the moment so the $ is down. It was much higher some months back and was even $1.08 US dollars!
As camera prices are stable here, it's cheaper than B&H and Adorama etc. In some cases cheaper than DWI and eGloble.
Now off to Leedervale Camera Swap meet.
Best regards

Intresting article but then I find all his stuff interesting, perfect for me a it has sharpness into the corners not quite your classic F1.4 Prime tohugh like the old version and the 35mm F1.4. I actually think you would prefer your old one Smeggy? What they call personality? (What I'd call soft corners:lol. For tip top performance all the way it's the 35mm Version, which has an elevated price tag to match it's increased quality...

Just looked at the image, I thought the yellow highlight across the eyebrows looked a bit odd, was it the remains of make-up.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
