Whitby Gothic Weekend, 28 April 2012

So I thought it was time to begin this thread. I won't be able to make it to Fountains Abbey:( but I managed to grab a late room at the Royal. So I will see whoever comes. It makes for a great day out and there are lots of willing models. And of course we will fully respect the feelings of anyone who doesn't wish to be photographed, as we always do! The more, the merrier. Hopefully we will see a few new faces. Meeting points are the café on Sandgate between around 8am & 9am then the foot of the church steps on below the East Cliff after that. We'll be there until at least 10am.

said that for saltaire on sat and it was more good than bad... I only start taking much notice couple of days before..fingers crossed, i'd prefer not to sack it off due weather

I'm travelling with three Durham Photographic Society colleagues, one a Nikon, another a Canon and the third is Pentax but not a member (yet) on PUF.
We aim to get to the cafe in Sandgate, near the swing bridge, in time for bacon butties and coffee before 8.30. My Nikon friend says he's looking forward to meeting the Pentax guys again.

Yes, the look of terror in their eyes as David points his ultra-wide an inch from their faces. That's what Whitby is about!

Sorry to say guys but I may be skipping this tomorrow, coming down with something nasty, spent most of the day drinking hot lemon remedies and keeping warm.

Fortunately I tend to shrug this sort of thing off quickly so I'll see how I feel tomorrow, so don't hang about for me, if I do come and I'm late I have Barries number, either that or I'll just search the coffee shops

I'm going but be around 1200 before I get there and that's if we don't stop for brekkie - it's 2 and a half hours for me and havin mi hair cut in t'morning so that's earliest I can get there.

I've had a good day in Whitby today, sun out and goths gathering. I'm planning on the cafe for 8.30. Sorry to hear you are not well Alan hope you can mke it.

I will either be at the cafe or the steps at 9.30. Currently in the pub with a very loud and relatively untalented band. Goths are present. And so far the weather is good.
