The 18-250mm is the better lens and it's very good indeed.

Lens changes don't necessarily have to cause dust problems. There's a trick to it which the manual doesn't include:
Find reasonably dust-free area
Turn camera off
Hold camera facing downwards
Have new lens ready with rear cap removed
Rapidly unclip lens and fit new lens
Replace rear cap on other lens
I do it this way and seldom have any dust, at least none that I've noticed in photos or that the dust alert thing has picked up. You might also want to set the camera so that it cleans the sensor every time you switch on, I've done this and suspect it helps.

SMC Pentax-DA 18-250mm.
Pros: Excellent sharpness, very close focusing, compact, wide focal length range.
Cons: Limited maximum aperture especially at the long end,.

I also think the 18-250 can be very flat, but if you shoot Raw you can give it more punch afterwards.
However, this is really a walkabout lens, not one you want to use all the time.
I change my lenses many times a day and don't normally have a problem with dust. I think you need to check your technique as Dangermouse advised.

There's nothing wrong with the Pentax 18-250, or the Tamron version come to that.
Just remember the limitations and their very good to use, especially as a walk about lens.

The Pentax and the Tamron 18-250 are the same optically.
The Sigma 18-250 has HSM and might focus faster but isn't as good as the other two.
Like said though these lenses are a compromise in almost everything, the 18-55 kit lens with a DA 55-300 will be better in terms of everything really.
Since you're quite new to photography you might want to try what you've now out a bit longer so that you know what lens to use in a situation and maybe even get more creative with the lens.
I had a Pentax DA 18-250 and sold that to fund the DA*50-135 which has been a far more versatile lens for me then the 18-250 was.
