Well I for sure know that I don't have one in the archives for this week... Unless you count my last birthday.

I suppose I could take a photo of the red and runny nose and swollen eyes I have at the moment.

But then everyone would be suffering, from looking at my ugly mug.

Looks like I'll "enhancing" an already dodgy reputation for street phoptography by hanging about the down and outs at shutting up time.

Of course, had this been set around the time of the General Election...

Difficult.

But just had an idea...
Best wishes,

Andrew

While I'm sure this is an admirable subject and may well produce a classic shot I'm afraid its not a subject that I feel happy about shooting so will be ducking out of this one.

Apologies,

Glyn

Do you want a picture of me eating my wifes cooking ?

Why not a picture of you after your wife reads this post?

I just entered the one image that depicts the suffering of a whole family including the tiny baby and evokes immeasurable pain whenever I look back through my images - but it was taken on my mobile phone as I wasn't allowed my 'big camera' in the room - is that OK? If not just ignore my entry.

Please start again. Normally only one go at entering is made, but in this case there's no harm done. This rule is to discourage entrants from replacing photos in the light of later entries, which would hardly be fair play!

Difficult theme... but one that's likely to produce some powerful images. And we're off to a great start.

Me too I am a hobbiest photographer who does this for fun. I don't have any desire to photograph suffering, and I'm not sure how I feel about amateur photographers trying to 'change the world' with these kind of photos. Sometimes it can be done right, but I fear all too often it isn't.

I have entered a picture which may be considered off-topic (but hey, I have history on that) and maybe it will encourage a wider interpretation?

I thought it a perfectly valid entry

After all suffering is however you interpret it - it could easily be an old, well worn and battered pair of very down at heel shoes
