The battery came already charged with mine so possibly depends where you buy the camera.
But they charge quickly so it shouldn't be long before you have photos to show us.
At least it gives tou time to read the manual

We're guys.
We wouldn't read the "Steeenkin' Manual" if we didn't have time to kill.

First battery is charged, spare is now on.
Having a play with metering and sensitivity, I need a faster lens in this dull light. Going to have a go with an A 50mm f1.7.
I really do like the look of the FA-50 1.4. Mustn't spend more, need to save for DA* LOL.
Anyone got the Hahnel HL-150? It is 1500mAh compared to the D-LI50's 1620mAh but at £20 I'm hoping it works well as it is 40% the price of the Pentax battery.

I have a no-name NP-400 replacement from 7dayshop (the £6.99 one). It has no markings which might reveal its maker, but it is a 1500mAH like your Hahnel. I have not been able to detect any difference in run time between it and the DLI50 which came with my K10D.
I would expect a Hahnel battery to perform at least as well, I've had some of their NiHM AA's in the past and they have always been superb.

Well, I'll find out when this one runs out.
I've been playing with my old A50 1:1.7 and it produces some amazing results on the K10D wide open. Certainly a lot better than the prosumer P&S I'm used to.
Need to get used to having two separate dials though as I keep wanting to change everything with one. Oh and I discovered the ISO shortcut in M mode purely by accident.
I wanted to shoot some birds in the garden but they're all hiding out of the rain I just want to shoot something, anything... Well, not quite.
It is driving me mad.

One thing I'm disappointed about is the lack of cases with the 'kit' lenses. Surely it wouldn't cost much to add a case to each box?
I want to play!
Not a nice day though, dull and showery. I wouldn't mind if it was dull and not raining.
