I am a bit late discovering this as it was in The Independent last year and has been floating around on the net for a while, but this amazing find has me fascinated!

Chicago news item.

Blog.

Flickr discussion.

Book and film plans.

Enjoy.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Thanks for the link Kris - some amazing photos there! And a great story. I wonder how the guy who is trying to scan it all in etc normally earns his crust?!

Damn, I did a long reply and the PC crashed when I pressed add comment GRR !!

Very annoying when that happens. With long replies I have started copying the text to the clipboard before pressing Add Comment. Then if it has timed out I can just paste the message again.

Wow, that is what I call RAW talent and it is one of the best street photography I ever have seen.
This guy is sitting on a gold mine and I hope he knows how to look after un-developed film as he has so much of her.
In a way, watching the video bought tears to my eyes as by today this is no longer possible. Now you need a 'degree' and no longer a portfolio to work for the best.
It shows that even the best pro's can learn from an amateur.
Kind regards

It's nice to be nice!

Thanks for sharing this, Kris. An amazing story. Imagine sitting on all that body of work for all those years... I bet there's lots of people like that who just take pictures to please themselves, write novels which are never published, paint pictures which lie about in attics...

Some wonderful evocative images. Same low view point as Tim uses but with the advantage of a near silent shutter and a viewing screen.
Best wishes,

Andrew
