Part 3 of the trip to Italy in 2018 - Bit more of a mix of "Classic" and Candid this time, don't think it flows quite so well but I hope you enjoy some of them anyway......

1. Counter Culture

2. Gondolier Chill Time

3. Backstreet Brickwork

4. What's on the menu?

5. Hotel Bisanzio

6. Water Taxi

7. Smoke Break

8. The Long-legged man and the Lookout Lady

9. A little light lunch?

10. Damned Tourists

Thanks for looking - that's all Folks

The flow is just fine, Lennybloke. And a bit more off the beaten path, which is always a good place to be, in my opinion. The chilling gondoliere is the pick of the lot here, for me.

Another really fine set John... love 2 and 3... and the water taxi in 6 is great... the opposite of the romanticised gondoliers you‘d usually expect to see...

Yet a third, crushingly creative (for use mere day trippers) travel set with numbers 1, 2 and 4 being the standout shots for me

Great set of shots, couldn't pick one out as better than the others. I particularly like the ones that give the true impression of what Venice is like away from the tourist areas.

The three sets are evocative of great memories and show a keen eye for capturing the moment. Definitely worth putting in the family archive.
Nigel.

Getting older and grumpier. Taking longer to decide which lens to use today.

A collection of manual primes to keep me in touch with the pleasures of doing it old-school.

Thanks for the comments received on all 3 sets - I don't think I even saw these type of shots until my 3rd visit to this magical city - the splendour of the architecture, the canals and bridges, the restaurants, and of course St Marks square blind you to the tourists, locals and everyday life, but once you see it - you start clicking. I'm not greatly travelled but if there is one "must see" city then Venice is the place for me (I'm told it's even better if you can stay in Venice as you can be out and about early to capture yet another aspect!).
