There's only one choice really, unless you want to go fisheye... Sigma 8-16mm. Good value at SRS at the moment, £375 IIRC. It has reviewed very positively. The 10-20mm is another option but obviously it's not as wide.
Something like the DA10-16mm fisheye will cram an even larger field of view in than a 'rectilinear' lens, but obviously the distortion might not be suitable. De-fishing is possible but you end up cropping the image anyway and who wants all that PP work and image degradation. [Edit - sorry you did mention you didn't want fisheye anyway!]

What Pentaxophile said, 8-16 for 375 from SRS. I didn't go for it cause when I tried it it seemed a little soft on my K-5 but it was the first day I had the camera so I put it down as user error. Ended up with a 10-20 from Cameraworld for 298 mainly cause I have seen brilliant pics from the lens and it had those extra 4mm on the long end making it that much more versatile.

Whoa! I'm glad I pounced on it while it was still £375.00 on SRS. It's back up to £549.00 now!

Chester,
U.K.
Have the 12 - 24, but need to go wider, not fisheye, or corrected fisheye in software.
Aperture is not important and Manual focus is OK.
The important bits are good image quality; does not have to be stellar, and as wide as possible.
Happy to get new or secondhand.
Any suggestions ?
Davex.
