Updates for our system cameras

I noted the news on AP that 'Fujifilm are continuing to update their double-flagship X-series models, the X-Pro2 and X-T2, with new firmware updates offering both significant improvements to both cameras'.

It begs the questions that a) have they a lot of faults early on b) That Ricoh could learn from them for our Pentax system DSLRs.

I'd be for example happy to see on my K3 the best algorithm from the newer models for autofocus. 33 items in updates is some refresh!

You should go with Fuji, it's like having a new camera every time there's a update.

I once owned a Fuji X10 and the update I installed certainly did transform the camera's operation. Their X-T2 has been very well reviewed (as are nearly all current cameras!)
Best wishes,

Andrew

If I had to drop Pentax (only because the world has ended), it would be Fuji and maybe Olympus I'd consider. That said, neither rivals the ergonomics of a Pentax APS-C for me. From the K100D Super to the K1...

Perhaps Fuji run Adobe Flash Player I'm sick of how often it needs updating on my PC

Do reviewers now state that Fuji's need an update. Does that also make the reviews out of date

Thank God for Pentax

K50 is around 560kg, KP around 700kg, a typical Fuji around 500kg. All with battery & card.

Well I hadn't realised what a heavy burden firmware improvements were. I'll stick to my lightweight K3 and 55 to 300 PLM a little while longer then. Let me know if a lightweight update for autofocus comes to 'light'. Such fun starting a thread and seeing how quickly it changes subject.
