Excellent showcase (sic) of your work. I like the simplicity of it all.

Thanks Bill, that's what I was aiming for, my old site was getting a bit bloated that's why I thought I needed a re-design.Excellent showcase (sic) of your work. I like the simplicity of it all.
It's still a work in progress and I will be adding more galleries but will try and keep it simple.

Nice, but one little point - if you don't click on the cookie notice to clear it you don't see the menu options hidden behind it. At first I thought it was a single page site! (Does it really need cookies?)

Probably not, I have Google Analytics on the site so need the cookie notice, thinking about it I probably don't need Google Analytics.(Does it really need cookies?)
I'll have a think about it but will probably do away with google analytics so will be able to get rid of the cookie warnings.
Thanks for the input John.

I reckon the main thing is to make Google aware of the site if you want it to show up in searches; that doesn't need analytics. But as you don't seem to have images titled or tagged and it seems to be run on flash there don't seem to be specific pages for Google to link to; for instance every Nature image has the same url.
If you want to sell the images from there I can't see how they are going to be found by a Google search.
I couldn't test Google out for that as I couldn't find anything definitive to search for to see it it has it indexed. The Google link to your gallery shows 'Coming Soon!' Google does have your 'Portfolio' indexed where the images can be found but not the actual photos. Aren't Gallery and Portfolio really the same thing? Personally I'd look to the gallery for the photos rather than the portfolio, but as I said, I can't see how you could get any specific image to show up in a generic or image search with that software.
I use Piwigo and often find my photos outrank Flikr images in Google searches even if their ones can be far superior to mine! Each image has its own url which Google can (and does) link to, Piwigo can be made to operate with much the same look and feel as your present site.
Have a look at some of their showcased galleries at: http://piwigo.org/showcase/
or there's mine at http://jkpg.ddns.net/piwigo/ and cookies aren't required! There are many customisation features, plugins and themes to get it how you want it to be; and the software is free and open source.
You're welcome to slate my site if you wish!

Thanks again John, I've had a look at the support info for the Juicebox Pro software that I use to build the galleries and it saysI couldn't test Google out for that as I couldn't find anything definitive to search for to see it it has it indexed. "SEO content is added as HTML text and images inside a tag. This content will also show on devices that do not support JavaScript. This content is not loaded by JS enabled devices which means it will not interfere with gallery smart preloading.
Juicebox uses the following data to build the SEO content. To maximise SEO visibility, ensure the following fields are not blank:
•Image Titles
•Image Captions
•'galleryTitle', 'galleryDescription' and 'shareUrl' options
Gallery title and description are also used to generate the HTML page's title and description tags, both of which are important for SEO purposes."
Doesn't mean that much to me really but I'm hoping if I add titles and captions to my images they'll get indexed by Google.
My site is still a work in progress, I'm slowly adding content and will work on the SEO later hopefully.
I was using my Portfolios to show off my 'best work' and was going to add more specific galleries later. Maybe I'll change Portfolio to Showcase.
Cheers

The software I've used to design my site is called Showkase and I've used Juicebox Pro to create the galleries.
For my old site I used the Juicebox software to create the galleries but used Dreamweaver to create the web-pages. Showkase is made by the same company so I thought it was the logical way to go. It is a lot more user friendly than Dreamweaver and more mobile/tablet friendly.
My new site is at S.R.Miller Photography please have a look and see what you think.
