The wee lad was under the weather most of this weekend. Mostly better now, so I don't feel so guilty about taking photos of him

Tim these are lovely shots, they should stay in the family archives for generations and serve to embarras the bot infront of his grilfriends in a few years' time!

I regret I've only got (mainly) posed shots of my boy growing up.

Regards,

Andrew

Thanks guys

Ripstar good call, I did try fooling around with brighter versions of 1 and 2, but the rabbit is already verging on blown highlights so it was a bit tricky. I think it also loses some of the sad feeling.

Poignant shots Tim.

When I've got areas of great contrast limiting scope for PP'ing, I often select the areas that are going to be affected negatively by the adjustment I want to make - the rabbit in this case. I then copy it to another layer. I then make the adjustments to the main part of the image, and finally blend in the other layer. It's probably very crude - my PPing is mainly self taught - but I've found it to be quite effective. And it should do the job here if you want to lighten the rest of the image.

I`m very jealous - all the photos of my grand daughter must stay very private as she is adopted and I would not be prepared to compromise her or her new parents for anything.

Still - after nearly 2 visits and 800 pics I`m sure she`ll appreciate them herself one day...........................

No 3 is particularly good as 'Babby' is obviously one of his 'comfort blankets' which helps when he is poorly. Fantastic shots for memories to be help forever.

Hope he gets better soon.

Great one s Tim

Tim,

It's no joy when kids are crook, but it's good to hear he is on the mend. Nos 1 and 2 are particularly evocative, each for their own reasons: the first for the 'miles-away' gaze you've captured, and the second for the obvious attachment. A good series, now that he's a bit better.

Thanks folks

Gareth and Paul yes that is his eqiuvalent of a comfort blanket. It's a rabbit-type thing (without back legs :shock which my wife bought for him before he was born. As you can imagine it's pretty manky now. Haven't yet come up with a plan for what to do when it gives up the ghost!

Not to worry you or anything Gareth , and my wife won't thank me for telling you this, but when I met her she was in her early 20s, and she still slept with a scrap of her childhood 'blankie'!
