A few photographs taken with my 50mm f1.7:

Picasa web albums doesn't appear to give IMG references, so I think I have to link to them, unless anyone can put me straight.

Number 4 and 7 are gorgeous. Great play of DoF, there.

Robbie that's a great little lens, isn't it? I would love to test it side by side with my 50mm f2. The shallow depth of field and defocused areas are wonderful to behold!

Usually looking for wdie depth of field, I don't do enough of this sort of thing but tomorrow I may post... we'll see.

Well done!

Andrew
Best wishes,

Thanks Martin, I'm a bit dense technology-wise at times, thanks for your help on that, I guessed it must be in there somewhere but I just didn't know where! Number 4 is my personal favourite, just like the simplicity of it.

Thanks for you kind words too Andrew, they're not perfect by any means, but I quite enjoy limiting myself to one focal range and one aperture setting an seeing what I can get from it. The lens is a stunner, it takes some practice at f1.7, especially with manual focus and no split image screen, but when you do get it right (or somewhere near) the results can be great. From what I've read the f2 isn't far off the f1.7 at all.

+3 the tap. To make an object so ubiquitous to appear so interesting...

Another vote for the tap, but you had better put the camera down and get the paint brushes out
C&C welcome.

Definitely the tap shot

I also like number 2, but the white bit top left lets it down a bit.

You're probably right! The shed door and porch window need a bit of TLC!

The tap and #6 for me. But all are beautiful, clean in their own way.
