The same "capture", one processed in Lightroom (creamtone preset tweaked a little) and one in Silver Efex Pro II.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I prefer #2, but the image set me thinking along more general lines, so I've started a thread.

Some people call me 'strange'.
I prefer 'unconventional'.
But I'm willing to compromise and accept 'eccentric'.

I've always preferred contrasty images so No. 2 for me too.
No. 1 looks like an old B&W print but there's nothing wrong with that.

#2 for me as well. It's the blowing snow combined with the clarity of the tree in the background that wins it for me.

I rather like No. 1, for me it has more atmosphere particularly with the fading of the more distant trees, almost ghost like. I also like the cream tint, it reminds me of years ago when I printed my own B&W images and I found some, even then, old photographic paper which had a matt cream finish, the results which I still have are very nice.
