Too much Fog and Mist? Never!

I was fortunate enough this weekend to have enough energy and a mate to drag me out for a spot of Astro-photography and sunrise chasing, at Llynnau Mymbyr - Snodonia National Park

What I hadn't planned on, and that was two fold, is doing a 30+ hour day day without sleep is fine when your younger, but not so great when you have hit 40 and secondly the weather gods can bless you with too much fog and mist. I know right! too much weather.

Check out the little 4min video I did to accompany the image, which was shot with the Pentax K1 + HD Pentax-D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR which punches way above its weight imho! (the image that is) the video waas done on a canon M50

I hope you enjoy!

Regards
Geoff

Worth a bit of discomfort for that ! Nice one.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

That looks superb Geoff, did you process in Lightroom? I ask because it looks to me as if it could benefit from the slider in white balance going more to green and away from purple a bit. I envy your energy!

Thanks Rob, yes processed in LR, white balance was set based upon the white lichen on the rocks. The hue really was intense mouve, purple and blues, and the mist was reflecting this coloured light everywhere. I had to tone down the saturation, perhaps I could have done more so, but then the image would have been further from how I experienced it...

Thank you Bill, really thought the 7 hours stood around in the dark, fog, mist from 1am till 8am was going to end up a bust!. Right at the last min the conditions lifted.
I think i need to invest in something to sit on
