At least it's a keeper so not a bad average.

Superb sunset, superb location, superb photograph, everything looks right.
Surely far better to return from holiday with one picture like that than any number of lesser pictures.

It's a beauty.
Would it be even better (entirely subjective of course) if the top left corner was lifted a bit? I think it could take being a touch brighter without spoiling that wonderful dramatic low light moodiness the image has as a whole

Thanks all
This was a 5 bracketed HDR that was toned down a lot from what LR spat out! Originally I had all the detail in the shadow cliff face showing and it looked, in my eyes, weird as it looked unnatural to how it should be so I retained some light detail and went with a darker look but no too dark it clipped black points

Wonderful result and well worth all the 'mucking about'.

A beauty. What level of de-ghosting did you use?

I used 'low' as found if I set it too high then it had all weird artifacts where it only blended some parts of the images together

I really like the texture in the sand, as well as the beautiful colour.

Thanks JR I really like the texture in the sand, as well as the beautiful colour.

This pic from the car park shows how that texture in the sand is made. Llangrannog beach sits at the bottom of a natural valley and as a result water is always trickling off the valley and onto the beach. The outlet is situated at the top of the beach and for years was the play area of my boys as they were too young to explore the surf so played in the fresh water at the top of the beach. As it nears the sea it's picked up speed and makes ripples over the sand. This is the texture you see in the foreground
