just a quick question

If you had to pick a favourite photographer from this forum who would you chose and in what Category would you class them in

James

my vote would be John Riley for portraits and advice

There are lots of forum members' photos I like, but those I like most consistently are Lilly's brilliant B'n'Ws.

That's a tough one. I don't think I could pick one.

I love Lilly's B&W,
But..
There are Simonkit's landscapes.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

Haven't been here long enough to see enough photos, but so far it's a toss up between Lilly's B&Ws and Paulyrichard's urban shots. However having said that there are so many impressive shots around here - Amin, Simonkit, Malo, RR, both Mikes ... the list is endless!

Well, I really feel honoured in being part of that list of forum members who have contributed with stunning images. I am humbled for being even named here in this thread

I have learnt a lot from many members here and have taken a lot of inspiration and guidance from so many of you its even hard for me to start naming them.

Suffice to say that whatever I have managed to come up with is definitely a result of watching you all come up with some fantastic images and interacting with the members and learning the skills. I have seen some of the most wonderful shots here that has inspired me to keep improving.

I have noticed that some members are more geared towards some fields such as macro work, others for wildlife, landscapes portraits abstracts etc, and this is what makes it also very hard to name one that would top the list. In my view I think we would be hard pressed to find one member who really tops it all in all the fields . Anyone volunteering to throw in a name? I might be wrong though but I think this is the beauty of this forum, there are so many members who are so good at various aspects of photography that even if its not with their work of art that they are extremely good at they are still so skilled and knowledgeable that they are able to help teach and guide a newbie such as myself and help me along the way to be able to come up with at least some goods that stand out a little to be accepted in the PPG.

I guess a word of thank you again is in order here for every member of this forum who has been fantastic throughout my time here.

On reflection I feel the original question is probably not valid.
Lens advice = Hefty1 and JR.
Abstracts = Amin.
C&C PS = Martin.
Street B&W = Paulyrichard.
Grammer and equipment in general = George L
Landscapes = Simonkit.
I could go on and on. The simple truth is there are far too many talented people on this site to pick one alone. Thats why I keep logging in

I would have to say Paulyrichard.

I wonder at his stuff at times, flashes of true brilliance imo.

Couldn't you have picked an easier question:

I'll second davex comment in that there are so many people who contribute to this forum its difficult to single out any one individual.

We also have many talented photographers.

Been reflecting on this, and realised that someone else whose photos I consistency like - more consistently, probably, if not as much as Lilly's - is Prieni's. Ralph always seems to nail it, combining colour, pattern and clarity. I do find Lilly's choice of subject matter more engaging though.

As for lens advice, C&C etc. etc. I'll leave that to another thread.
