It appears very wet! Bad enough motorcycling through the floods last Sunday (see previous thread).
BTW, you need to straighten the horizon in the first one.

Ooops, forgot that bit. The river rose by 2" in 4hrs that day, but this morning had dropped back to be within its bank, but still high.

Love the tree reflections in the first and the indications of the water actually moving.
I find the background in the second slightly irritating , but then I know I wouldn't do any better
