Buying a camera with multiple program modes and AF, then just using manual everything with thirty year old lenses...
I always think the K/M/A series lenses with pull out hoods are very neat. It becomes a reflex to pull the hood out as you remove the lens cap and push it in when you put the cap back on. No risk of losing the hood and it's always fitted, but doesn't take up any more space in the bag.

Well, veyr many happy snappers shot their flashes at nothing. Many even have very good gear.

Journalist photographers with a stofen plastic cap on their flash while they are outside or in a large hall, the only thing those stofen do then is eat a stop of light

Years ago my boss was trying to take photos of one of our simulators. He wanted a shot of a CRT display but there was not enough light. No way could I explain to him that the flash would not help.
At Shoreham airshow last year I saw at least two people with Bigma type lenses on their cameras with flashguns mounted.

Let us not mock the afflicted!
Few years ago we had scaffolding around the house and I thought great to climb to the top to take some panoramas'. Windy and wet, so rattled a few off and climbed down - only to discover I didn't have a Card in the camera.

I've used my flash (360) with my DA*300 and go some great pictures. Also used it with the 300 and a x2 converter - exposure was fine but my manual focussing was awful.

seeing touists taking pictures with the sun shining right into the lens. It is funnier when they do it with 35mm film.

I wonder how many of us have shot a roll of 35mm film only to discover that there wasn't a roll of film loaded...

OR put the Metz flash on the camera - set everything up , take the shot and find , once you are on the way home , that you didn't switch the darn unit on !!

Taking a lens hood everywhere, but leaving it reversed on the lens when taking puctures. This rendering possessing it as totally pointless.
Any others spring to mind?
