Hi there fello Pentax users

some of you may remember me from a while back, I have a K-5 Silver that crashed

https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/k-5-silver----crashed-27983

well it went back to Pentax for repair (or where ever they go to) and was gone for just over a month.... with in a few days of its return it started to develop some brand new faults, like the green button being unresponsive and not seeming to be calibraetd correctly (producing different results each time you press it in the same shooting mode, environment etc....)
the shutter release button is unresponsive
and as if that isnt bad enough is prodicing pink and green stripy images

I think its unacceptable that you've had to wait a month. I'd go for a new black K5 plus the difference back, after all the differences are largely cosmetic (although I've heard the grip is pretty nice)

Being a limited Edition I can see you might be torn from just returning it or having it fixed. There are probably not many silver K-5s left to swap it for.

I would talk to your supplier, but first you need to be clear what you want. Repair? Replacement? Refund?
Best regards, John

I think you have to scrape off all the Silver before it
works properly!...... Wait!...... that doesn't sound Right!

Now I remember what it is you scrape off .... If your using an
old lens that has a black painted mount, you have to either
scrape back to bare metal or put a piece of silver foil over
the body contacts for the Green Button to work on the K-5.

Stuff the K-5, did you ask him if we are getting a decent long range tele lens?

Seriously though, good to see some positive feedback about Pentax for a change.

I though I had gotten off scott free because my K-5 always worked perfectly from day one, no sensor stains, focusing issues etc. Then the Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 lens I bought along with it broke. It's like something bad just had to happen becauase it wouldn't be fair on all the other K-5 users otherwise.
