By the way, if SDM is not a major issue for you...
Well that's the major problem isn't it.
Pentax already said to drop the screw-drive with new lenses that has SDM.
They said it cost too much to build two focus systems in a lens and that it's an engineering challaging to do so in a small lens body.
This means that all the DA* lenses will be KAF3 from now on, we already see that with the DA*55 and the DA*30 has the same desgin.
Pentax really needs to come with a TC that works with SDM since it's becoming standard and they need to support it

I've been reading this topic with interest but now you've really got me confused.

I was thinking of buying a TC to go with my Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro lens. Which Kenko 1.5 TC do I need - the Pz-AF SHQ or the DG-MC. And does anyone have any experience with adding a TC to this lens.

I've read good reports about the Tamron 1.4 but cannot find it anywhere?

The 70-300mm is not HSM so you can use any teleconverter with it (not the Sigmas though as they are made specificall for their fast lenses).
The Tamron is very hard to find as it will work with SDM (new pentax) lenses but the Kenko is just as good as you do not need that.

Simple question, is it possible to buy a new tele-converter that fully supports the DA 300mm?
