Superb. I particularly like the outrigger canoe. Reminds me of a crossing I once did from Luzon to Mindanao (I think), years ago. Motor broke, and we drifted for hours! Luckily there was beer.

An excellent set of photos.
I love the light - we don't seem to get that here in London!
Thanks, Dave

Hi Shotgun,
Impressive stuff,i like too many of them to mention
I have a question for you, the lens states that it is a 16-45mm, and i was wondering if used on the istD would i have to calculate the 1.5 factor or would it stay real 16-45
I ask because the info i have found states, i quote:"
"The compact, high-performance, interchangeable smc PENTAX-DA 16mm-45mm F4 ED AL lens features a 3X zoom ratio with focal lengths covering ultra-wide to moderate-telephoto ranges for the angle of view equivalent to 24.5mm-69mm in the35mm format."
Thanks for your answer

Pano,
I too have the DA 16-45. It is 16mm in the 35mm format, so you do have to multiply by 1.5 to get the results spec'd by Pentax. i.e. it behaves like a 24.5-69mm lens
(There is an SMC-DA 14mm due out, which will give you a 21mm result.)
Fabulous optics - ultra sharp, wonderful contrast and bokeh. Definitely worth it! So good, in fact, I'm seriously considering the SMC-FA 24-90 to complement it

I just came back from a long holiday in my father's remote hometown, somewhere in Dinagat Island, Surigao del Norte. I still have loads of RAW files waiting to be processed and uploaded.
Below is a link of some of them... mostly taken with my new pentax smc 16-45mm DA lens. Stay tuned to this link as I keep it updated with loads of pics with the 16-45mm.
