Optio 430RS

Hi all,

I'm new here, and could do with some help. My camera works just fine, but I can't download the photos onto my PC. This has only just happened.

I've reloaded the ACDSee software which came with it, and also tried a new USB lead just in case, but still no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I encountered the same problem with my Optio 430RS! Did you manage to download the photos from the camera or did you end up using a Card Reader?

Rather than use the camera software, I prefer to use a card reader and download the pictures straight into a folder. Then these original files are copied onto a CD, which becomes the archive "negative". If any files are opened in Photoshop, any resaving is done as a TIFF to prevent any degradation.

If you are using Windows XP - you need to upgrade the drivers as apparently the ones on the CD do not work. I read this on www.pentax.co.uk and you can find the link to the driver there also
