Stubborn lens hood - help

The lens hood should be smooth and slick, so perhaps check out the plastic bayonet to see if something has been damaged. Don't force anything.
Best regards, John

doesn't seem right to me... you sure you didn't mixup a different hood from another lens?
something is warped or damaged.

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Talcum powder worked for me.

Thanks for replies, had a look at the hood, it doesn't seem to be damaged or misshapen at all and it's definitely the correct hood.
The edges have a 'worn' look to them, as it rubs on and off the lens.
I gave it a clean with some damp cotton ear bud thingys.
They were covered in black grime by the time I'd wiped all round the hood bayonet and end of lens.
The hood seems to fit on and off a lot easier.
I guess it was a build up of grime. (now before you say, I'm not a filthy chap :blush
Will keep an eye on it.

I've had similar problems with my 16-45 and after cleaning the black grime off it fits fine. (It would appear to be very fine worn plastic)
Not really bothered me as it fits fine after cleaning.

My 16-45 is like new but the hood is very tight to get off. Always has been too.

My 16-45 has always been the same. I clean it every so often and it helps a bit.

A bit of lead pencil on the hood connector, may do the trick.

My hood on the 16-50mm is really tight to undo off the lens when it's inverted. You can see rubbing on both lens and hood. It can also be stubborn to get off once it has been on the 'right' way, when I come to pack up.
I was thinking it needs a bit of 'lube' to help with the stiffness, but prob not great idea to get 'lube' around lens front!
Any suggestions?
Thanks
