Another assumption has been made.
I haven't divulged anythin' to anyone about what I did after the photo was taken.
He sure does look as though he could be dead, don't he?
There lies the beauty of this photograph, it makes you think. It may even make you wanna' do somethin' to help these people on the street next time you meet one.
I'm sorry, but were all those photographs taken in Iraq of dead iraqi soldiers climbin' from they're vehicles burnt to a crisp, cheap shots?!
No, they're a document of what has happened.

I'm sitting on the fence on this one, but one question -
Why has this picture caused displeasure when another of Pauly's here was well received?
From the feeling I get from Pauly's descriptions and replies to his images he is not showing any respect or sympathy to his subjects. His first image was a good portrait shot and I said so, I also tactically implied on his mug comment which went over his head. This next image does not convey anything to me other than an human being lying on a pavement. If some street surroundings were shown to elaborate he was in fact sleeping rough it might have gone somewhere to photo journalist this persons plight, as it stands it could be just a dead body conveying no message.Pauly surely these misfortunates have this so called problem not the likes of you.

I should never have told you whether he was homeless or not, I should've jus' let you make your own minds up.
I know a fair few homeless people in London, especially near where I live. I know they're stories, i've made my case of wantin' to know. I've told them what i'm doin' or tryin' to do.
So i'll tell you also.
Jus' recently about 2 months ago, i've made it a photo project of mine to photograph as many homeless people on the streets of London in whatever shape or form, so that I can maybe show them to the mayor of this city (Boris Johnson) and show him, or remind him about his endeavour to find homes and help for every homeless person in the city by 2012.
So I don't need none of this 'holier than thou' attitude about not showin' these guys any sympathy or respect when they're sleepin'.
Also, everyone i've met i've given 'em money or cigarettes (I carry a pack on me for this, I don't smoke) in thanks or trade.

In any event, let's remember to offer our opinions with respect for each other and without personal comments creeping in. There's been enough of that.
Contrary views exist and that's fine, without coming to "verbal blows" over it.

John, i'm easy mate. But there were far too many assumptions and unfounded criticisms without any regard to the photo.

What remark?! Answer me that!!Those masters should probably turn in their graves if they heard your remark.
If you knew anythin', Weegee was a photographer who had his own radio tuned to a police network. He would pick up on when and where a killin'had been committed and would get there before the police, jus' so that he would have no hindrance in photographin' the aftermath, he also had a darkroom in the trunk of his car.
Weegee's photos of crime scenes, car-wreck victims in pools of their own blood still shock to this day.

Not wanting to get into this arguement too much but I will say one thing. Jesus Christ, that is one hell of a 'holier than thou' attitude!

Paulyrichard, I take GREAT offence by the blasphemy used above. One of the many, many things I like about this site is that there is no swearing. This is the first instance of blatant blasphemy I have seen and am quite appalled by it.
So before stating that you are offended by someones comment, think about what you say so you do not offend others.

Why are YOUR opinions so right and everyone else's so wrong, why is it so wrong or "pathetic" that Mr Bug should be offended by your comments when you yourself were so obviously offended by a bit of honest critisism, I think its time you apologised to everyone here for causing such a stir and getting everyones backs up, and think very carefully before you reply to this as you have already dug a very big hole for yourself, In fact I will now be very interested to see how many members continue to comment on any of your images.
